1. look on sb. as sb. ** 把某人看做或认成某人

解习语；词义溯源：［对于（on）］某人，将其看做某人

例 Though he was only a neighbor, he visited so often and kept the children so entertained with his adventure stories that we began to look on him as a kind of surrogate grandfather. In fact, we even insisted on having him in our family portrait just two years before he passed away.

2. look sb. in the eye / look 〔stare〕 sb. in the face ** 直视，正视
