抛招1：The boys said they has smashed the windows just for the hell of it.

男孩子们说他们打破窗子只是为了好玩。

抛招2：Asked why he had beaten up a compete stranger, the young man replied he has done it just for the hell of it.

问那个年轻人而你什么打一个素不相识的人，他回答说就是为了寻开心。

接招：在以上2个例句中都用到了同一个词语：just for the hell of it。这是一条副词性短语，在句中作目的状语。短语中的just是“就是，只是”的意思，起到加强语气的作用。介词for表示“原因”。短语the hell是“究竟”的意思。It 是指代句子中的事件。 Just for the hell of it连在一起意为：仅仅为了取乐，只是为了好玩(寻开心、瞎闹)等等。

下面我们再通过3个例句来熟悉这个短语的意思。

1. We went swimming at midnight just for the hell of it.

我们深更半夜去游泳，只是为了好玩而已。
