故事原文

A visitor who sold umbrellas spent his holiday in a famous town. He brought a camera with him. He took some pictures. The weather was hot. So he wanted to cut his hair. When he arrived at a barber's shop, the barber took one of his umbrellas. After the barber cut the visitor's hair, he asked for the price of the umbrella.

“Two pence,” answered the man.

“No, no,” said the barber. “I will give you a penny, and if you don't think that's enough, you may take your umbrella back!”

The man was surprised but he understood, so he took it back and asked how much he had to pay. “A penny,” answered the barber.

“I will give you half a penny, and if that's not enough, I'm afraid you may put my hair on again.”

一个游客是卖伞的，他在一个著名的镇上度假。他随身带着照相机，拍了些照片。天气很热，所以他想理发。当他到一个理发店的时候，理发师从他那里拿了一把伞。当理发师给他理完发后，他询问伞的价格。

卖伞的人回答说：“两个便士。”

“不，不。”理发师说，“ 我只出一个便士，如果你认为不够的话，可以把伞拿回去。”

卖伞的人很惊讶，但他（很快就）明白了是怎么回事，所以他拿回了雨伞，随后问理发要付多少钱。 “一便士。”理发师说。

卖雨伞的人说：“我给你半个便士，如果你觉得不够的话，你可以把头发安回去。”
