Claim: Major policy decisions should always be left to politicians and other government experts.

Reason: Politicians and other government experts are more informed and thus have better judgment and perspective than do members of the general public.

Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the claim and the reason on which that claim is based.

五问：

（1）重大决策对于谁来说是重大的？我们是否有权对与他人相关的重大事件做出决策呢？重大决策只是关乎国家对外战略的吗？是否有与民生紧密相关的呢？

（2）了解更多信息的政客和政府专家，他们所了解的信息是哪些方面的？对于第一手的信息，是他们更了解还是一线的民众更了解？对于重大决策，一线的信息是否一定不重要？政客和政府专家们作为资源占有方，掌握着信息的来源，对于政府将要采取的政策可能会比民众知道得更早、更多，但是对于来自民间的一手信息，如民生民情，谁最先得知呢？

（3）只由政客和政府专家来做决策，可能会产生哪些问题？你是否听过政治学领域常说的“精英合谋”？

（4）对政客和政府专家所做的所有决策都开绿灯，是否可能造成腐败的现象？

（5）政客和政府专家是如何产生的？如果不让民众参与政治决策的过程，是否可能导致政策不被理解、难以实施等其他问题？

翻译练习：

只有通过倾听来自各行各业的人们的声音，政客们才能保持消息灵通并借此维持他们良好的判断力。因此，政客们不仅应该基于广大民众的意愿来制定重大政策，而且应该根据他们从民众那里获知的变化的现实情况来调整它们（即政策）。

Therefore, not only should politicians base their major policy decisions on the will of the general public, they should also adapt them to the changing realities they learn from their people.
