《我们的生活》这部剧的亮点大概在于时间线和叙事手法，不着痕迹地穿插着两代人忙乱却充满爱的生活。在S01E07中，这天小兰德尔做题又做到深夜，凯文想唤起他的注意让他关灯休息，但是没想到碰到了小兰德尔的宝贝毯子，这个毯子是小兰德尔被遗弃时裹的毯子，这让他很生气。从此，两个小孩子之间的“战争”开始了。在橄榄球比赛中，兰德尔和凯文是对手，在他们比赛的时候的背景音乐是《Come Talk to Me》。
