Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to request your assistance. My father sent me a parcel on May 1st, but I haven't received it yet. The shipment number is 1234567. Could you please check to see if it has gone astray?
The parcel is small and wrapped in brown paper. Inside the parcel are some reference books I need for my thesis and a photo album my parents gave me as a birthday gift. These things are not costly, but are of great importance to me.
I would very much appreciate it if you could look into the matter and let me have your response as soon as possible.
