Dear editors，

I'm Li Hua，a devoted reader of your newspaper．A heated discussion has recently been held in my class about the phenomenon that many high school students listen to MP3 players quite frequently and I'd like to summarize the results of the debate for you．

40% of the students vote for it，stating that MP3 players is a helpful friend to us students never to be forgotten．To begin with，it's quite a popular fashion for young people to listen to MP3 players，which makes us feel cool and different．Besides，music can refresh us from the heavy study burden，setting us in a good humor．And the most important is that we can improve our English levels by listening to English programs．However，those who speak out against it account for 60%．They argue that listening to MP3 players is a complete waste of time and distracts us from study．Exciting as the music may be，it will do great harm to our sense of hearing if we are lost in it for too long．Moreover，it is a waste of money for us students who have no economic income．

As far as I'm concerned，listening to MP3 players is not an issue that needs to be concerned about too much，but we students must learn to make proper use of it and control the listening time．If we can find the balance between recreation and study，and be bound to have self-discipline，then MP3 players will bring great convenience to our study and add a brilliant touch to our daily life as well．
