More and more emphasis has been laid on social experience of students，which can be seen in school enrollment and job hunting．To gain social experience，students need social practice，which is absolutely important．

First of all，social practice provides students with various opportunities to put what they have learned in school into practice．Students are obtaining all kinds of knowledge in school，but few of them have ever applied it to daily life．Through social practice，students will be able to build up a connection between theory and practice，which will enable them to be aware of what they lack and what they should know more about．

Secondly，social practice can make students realize their value．Many students don't know what they can do to improve society．Social practice can give them a chance to discover their strong points and their abilities，thus increasing their self-confidence．

Thirdly，social practice can widen students' horizon．In schools，students don't have many chances to face the real society．Through social practice，not only will students be able to communicate with more people but also know about deeper social problems and more about themselves．

In a word，social practice is so essential to students in many aspects that they should try to get as many chances as possible to benefit themselves in this way．
