B: I don't. No meat, no fish!

A: OK, and you said that you have a garden.

B: Yeah, I'm lucky to have enough room to have a vegetable garden, as well as a flower garden, so I love growing veggies.

A: Oh, nice! Can you tell us about your garden and what you grow and what you eat?

B: Sure absolutely! Well, I guess in the summertime, I grow a lot of salad vegetables: lettuce, green onions, tomatoes, and over the winter, whatever grows pretty much, carrots or cabbages, broccoli.
当然可以！在夏天的时候我会种许多能用来做沙拉的蔬菜：包括莴苣、大葱、西红柿；而冬天则会种大量的胡萝卜、卷心菜和花椰菜。
A: Wow, you grow vegetables all year round!

B: I try. I try. I'm not a great gardener. Yeah, so!

A: And what things do you like to make with these vegetable?

B: Ah, in the summer time I love just raw vegetables, so salads are great, and I eat them with Tofu or, yeah, vegetables are good. (OK) Yeah in winter soups. I love making soup with fresh veggies.
夏天的时候我喜欢吃生蔬菜，做成沙拉很棒，我会搭配豆腐来吃，蔬菜非常棒。（好的）冬天的时候就做汤喝。我喜欢用新鲜的蔬菜做汤。
A: Oh, what kind of soup?
哪种汤？
B: Well, I don't follow recipes actually, so what ever veggies I have go in the pot. Yeah, tomato soup, corn soup's good.
实际上我并不按照食谱做，我把菜园里有的蔬菜都放进锅里。当然，西红柿汤和玉米汤非常好。
A: Sounds good. How do you make soup?I mean what is your procedure?
听起来不错。你怎么做汤？我是说步骤是什么？
B: OK, well, basically I take whatever vegetables I have, chop them up and cook them, boil them lightly. I like them still crunchy and then I often add a base of some salt, a stock, a veggie stock.
好，基本上来说我会用我能找到的蔬菜做汤，把蔬菜切碎然后稍微炒煮一下。我喜欢吃起来脆脆的蔬菜，之后放点盐就行了，这样就做成了高汤，蔬菜高汤。
A: Now that's normally a problem for vegetarians right, cause you can't use bouillon, (Yeah) the beef cube or the chicken cube.
这对素食主义者来说是个问题，因为你们不用肉汤来调味，（对），比如牛肉粒或是鸡精块之类的。
B: Sure, at home actually, we have a lot of vegetarian products available so I get some organic veggie stock, or alternatively, I use some spices, some cumin or basil spice, yeah, or sometimes lentils I cook up. Yeah!
没错，通常在家里我们有很多素食产品，所以我会做有机时蔬高汤，或者我会用一些调味料，一些孜然或是罗勒叶，有时我烹饪时也会用小扁豆。嗯！
