辨 析：
我们讲过，翻译时不能把英语和汉语的词一个个等同起来，逐字对号照搬。本句的翻译中的“从”字明显是由from来的。如果不是翻译，谁也不会说某人“从”某个地方说话，所以，按中文习惯，本句应译为：“来帮帮我忙，”他在隔壁房间里喊道。那么，英语为什么用from而不用in呢？这是因为英语是从声音的角度考虑的，那是“从”隔壁房间传过来的，而汉语着眼的是人说话的地方。当然，此句也可以译成：“来帮帮我忙，”从隔壁房间传来他的喊叫声。汉译英也要注意符合英语的习惯，如：
“鸣凤，鸣凤！”上房里有人在叫，是母亲的声音。“Mingfeng, Mingfeng!” It was the voice of mother, calling from the main building.
