旅游英语论文:景德镇陶瓷文化景区的旅游英语翻译问题探讨

1 景区旅游英语典型翻译错误及矫正旅游汉译英最大的问题是翻译质量差。旅游景区汉译英的错误与失误较多，英文指南和标示语质量较差，影响了宣传和交际效果。以景德镇古窑景点关于“小柴窑”的介绍(错误部分用斜体字标出)为例，这篇80余字的简介竟然有近二十处错误，其中拼写错误达8处之多。

　　2 景区汉英翻译常见错误分析我们通过对各景区的译文质量研究发现，翻译失当的情况也出现在景德镇其他国家4A级旅游景区的介绍中。总之，这些问题可以归入五大类型：单词拼写错误和遗漏；语法错误；中国式英语；表达不当及用词累赘。
　　2.1 拼写错误准确是翻译的灵魂。要做到译文准确，首先要求译文的文字必须拼写正确。这是翻译的最基本标准。拼写错误不但会妨碍读者的理解，而且在很大程度上还会削弱宣传资料的吸引力。拼写错误和遗漏在翻译错误中占了一定的比例。例如：
　　(1)Small fireword kiln; fireword 应改为firewood。
　　(2)prvent spontaneouscombustion;prvent应改为prevent。
　　(3)Theple offirewoodisanotherdistinguishcharacteristicofJingdezhen kiln; ple 应改为pile。
　　(4)This workshop produses the past dynasties old chinacompetitive product; produses应改为 produces。此类错误的出现很可能不是由于翻译者的业务水平造成的，而是在制作时没有认真校对。因此只要译者和相关人员工作谨慎一些，这些错误是完全可以避免的。
　　2.2 语法错误旅游英语的翻译中常见的语法错误包括主谓不一致、可数名词单复数错误、时态错误和词类混淆等。例如：
　　(1)指示牌“太平窑”中的一个句子：WhenthemoonrisesontheshyintheeveningofMid-autumnFestival,thepotterssetfireonthepeacekilnalongtheChangjiangRivertoprayforapeacefulworld and flourish porcelain industry. 译文在语法上存在明显错误，Whenthemoonriseson theshyin theeveningofMid-autumnFestival句中误用了介词“in”和“on”。
　　(2“)古井”(Ancient well)指示牌的说明：Water is one of themost important resources for porcelain production, To get aconvenientconditionforwatersupply,Thewellissitedneartheworkshop,Thesmallconstructionbecomesadecorationtomakethesurroundingenvironmentmoretasteful.译文中存在典型的“逗号误接句”，并且忽略了首字母的大小写问题。试改译为：Water isessentialformakingporcelain.Jingdezhen'swaterandclayaremostsuitableformakingporcelain.Ancientwellisadjacenttotheworkshopsoastomakeclayandwaterbestcomplementeachother.
　　2.3 中国式英语一些译文没有译出地道的英文，而是中国式的英文。原译文受到了中文习惯的影响，在翻译时并没有完全依照英文的行文习惯，是字到字的直译，这些错误可能会误导国外游客。例如：exquisitethinfoetus精致薄胎。建议译为：exquisiteeggshellporcelain(2)topgradeblueandgreenflowers高档清花。建议译为：high。《中国商贸》blue and white porcelain(3)loose firewood松柴。应该译为：pine wood在旅游资料中，有许多名词、术语是中国特有的，如果直接按字面译成英语，外国人根本看不懂。因此，用直译不能达到翻译的效果时，意译是唯一的解决办法。
