Down by the Salley Gardens

Down by the salley gardens my love and I did meet;
She passed the salley gardens with little snow-white feet.

She bid me take love easy, as the leaves grow on the tree;
But I, being young and foolish, with her would not agree.

In a field by the river my love and I did stand,
And on my leaning shoulder she laid her snow-white hand.
She bid me take life easy, as the grass grows on the weirs;
But I was young and foolish, and now I am full of tears.

漫步在莎莉花园

在莎莉花园深处，吾爱与我曾经相遇。
她穿越了莎莉花园，用雪白的双足。

作者威廉•巴特勒•叶芝 William Butler Yeats（1865.6.13—1939.1.28），爱尔兰著名的诗人、剧作家和神秘主义者。叶芝也是“爱尔兰文艺复兴运动”的领袖，艾比剧院（Abbey Theatre）的创建者之一，他于1923年获得诺贝尔文学奖，这也说明了为什么Salley Garden 如此地富有诗意。
