三、数词的用法

（一）时间表达法

1.表示“整点”时，几点钟用基数词加o'clock，或直接用基数词

1：00　one o'clock或one

12：00　twelve o'clock或twelve

2.表示“半点”时，half+past+钟点数或钟点数+thirty

7：30　half past seven或seven thirty

11：30　half past eleven或eleven thirty

3.表示“几点过几分”，钟点数+分钟数

10：05　ten five

10：25　ten twenty-five

10：50　ten fifty

4.分钟数在半小时内，“分钟+past +小时”

1：10　ten past one或one ten

12：15　fifteen （a quarter）past twelve或twelve fifteen

4：30　half past four

5.分钟数超过30分钟，“60-分钟数”+to+下一个钟点数

4：35　twenty-five to five

12：55　five to one

6：45　fifteen （a quarter）to seven

Tips：

数词和数量名词（包括时间、空间等）结合在一起，作定语修饰名词时，可以用以下两种方式表示

1.加连字符。加连字符后面的名词一定要用单数形式。

ten-minute walk 10分钟的步程，three-hour drive 三小时的车程

2.不加连字符。不加连字符后面名词要用复数形式，并加所有格修饰。

ten minutes' walk 10分钟的步程，three hours' drive 三小时的车程

（二）年、月、日表示法

1.“年”的表示

表示“年”用基数词，读的时候分成两部分，先读前面的两位数，再读后面的两位数

1996年　读作nineteen ninety-six

2008年　读作 twenty eight

2.“月、日”的表示

“月”用英语中表示月份的名词，January，February，March，April，May，June，July，August，September，October，November，December

“日”用基数词或序数词表示都可以

10月1日 写作：October 1st or October 1

　　　　读作：October the first

3.“年、月、日”的表示

英语中表示日期的顺序为：月-日-年

2017年7月10日 写作：July 10th，2017 or July 10，2017

　　　　　　　读作：July tenth，twenty seventeen

Tips：

在表示“每隔一……”或“每隔二（三，等等）……”时，要注意后面名词的适当形式。

every other week（month）每隔一周（月）

every two weeks （months）每隔两周（月）

（三）编号的使用

1.基数词放在名词的后面，名词首字母大写，可以表示各种编号

第8号　Number 8 （读作：number eight，缩写：No.8）

第一部分　Part One=the first part

第三模块　Module Three=the third module

2.编号为三位或三位以上数字时，从左到右将数字一一读出

102 室　Room 102（读作：room one o two）

783路公交车　Bus 783（读作：bus seven eight three）

第152页　Page 152（读作：page one five two）

Tips：

1.关于加、减、乘、除算式的读法

1+2=3　读作 One and two is three.

10-2=8　读作 Ten minus two is eight.

8×3=24　读作 Eight times three is twenty-four.

9÷3=3　读作 Nine divided by three is three.

2.表示年龄的数词作定语时，如放在修饰词前，通常使用“基数词-year-old”这一形式，如放在修饰词后，则使用“of + 基数词”。

an eight-year-old girl=a girl of eight 一个八岁女孩

3.表示“几十岁” 时，应该用复数形式，并且在前面加上“in one's ...”。

in his fifties 在他五十多岁时

4.几个与数目有关的词语的英语表达方式如下：

a dozen 一打　two dozen 两打　dozens of 几十

score 二十　two score 四十　scores of 几十

one-third 三分之一　two-fifths　五分之二
