三、其他强调结构

1.wh-ever 疑问句式表示强调

Whatever are you going to do next？ 下一步你究竟要做什么？

Whenever shall we meet again？ 我们究竟什么时候才能再见面？

2.某些短语可置于疑问词之后，表示表示强调

on earth 究竟 in the world 到底 in heaven 究竟 under the sun 究竟

Where in heaven were you then？ 当时你到底在哪里？

What on earth is the matter there？ 那里究竟发生了什么事？

Where in the world could he be？ 他到底会在哪儿？

Nobody under the sun would buy that car.确实没有人会买那辆车。

3.at all表示强调

（1）用于否定句、条件句，表示“完全，根本”。

If it were not for the sun，we could not live at all.

如果没有太阳，我们根本不能生存。

Do it well if you do it at all.要做就要做好。

（2）用于肯定句或疑问句，表示“真的，确实”。

You are fortunate to be able to speak even a little Spanish at all.

你很幸运，真的会讲一点西班牙语。

Do you feel ill at all？ 你真的感到不舒服吗？
