On Thursday, April 25, the Grammy announced that he will release his twelfth studio album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), this summer.

He confirmed the news on his Instagram on Thursday by sharing a teaser that aired just before his appearance during the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit.

The new album title references the rapper’s alter ego, which has been a part of the rapper’s persona since his Slim Shady EP in 1997 and The Slim Shady LP in 1999. After the 51-year-old rapper’s cameo with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell during the cold open of the NFL Draft, a trailer for his upcoming album began circulating on social media before the rapper shared the clip himself Thursday evening.
