1945年9月2日，日本政府签署投降书，中国人民抗日战争暨世界反法西斯战争正式宣告胜利结束。在那场曾遍及亚洲、欧洲、非洲、大洋洲的战役中，军队和民众伤亡超过1亿人，其中中国伤亡人数超过3500万。

2014年2月27日，十二届全国人大常委会第七次会议经表决通过，将9月3日确定为中国人民抗日战争胜利纪念日。2020年9月3日，是中国人民抗日战争暨世界反法西斯战争胜利75周年纪念日。

China and Russia, respectively the main battlefield in Asia and Europe, endured great national sacrifices for and made indelible historic contributions to the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War. The Chinese and Russian peoples fought side by side and forged an unbreakable great friendship with blood, laying a solid foundation for the high-level development of bilateral relations.
