President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a joint statement on June 28, officially deciding to extend the China-Russia Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation. The announcement came during talks between the two heads of state via video link.

习近平指出，相信在《条约》精神指引下，无论前进道路上还需要爬多少坡、过多少坎，中俄两国都将继续凝心聚力、笃定前行。
"Under the guidance of the treaty, the two countries will continue to make concerted efforts and firmly move forward despite the difficulties and obstacles ahead," Xi said.
