1. as it is [was]

(1) 表示：事实上(通常置于句首)。如：

I hoped things would get better, but as it is they are getting worse. 我原希望情况会好转，但实际上是越来越糟。

As it is we can hardly get to the station by five o’clock. 事实上我们在6点钟以前是很难赶到车站的。

As it was he stole our money. 事实上是他偷了我们的钱。

(2) 表示：照现在的样子；照原来的样子(通常置于句末)。如：

2. as it were

3. as you were

(1) 用于军队操练及类似场合，表示恢复原来的姿式，意为：原地不动；复原；恢复原来的姿式。

(2) 用来纠正自己说错的话，意为：不；不对；错了；对不起，我说错了。如：

I saw Smith，as you were, I mean Brown. 我看见了史密斯，哦，不，我是指布朗。

See you at the station at eight, as you were, nine o’clock. 8点钟车站见，不对不对，9点钟车站见。
