My daughter, Jane, never dreamed of receiving aletter from a girl of her own age in Holland. Last year,we were traveling across the Channel and Jane put apiece of paper with her name and address on it intoa bottle. She threw the bottle into the sea. Shenever thought of it again, but ten months later,she received a letter from a girl in Holland. Bothgirls write to each other regularly now.However, they have decided to use the post office. Letters will cost a little more, but theywill certainly travel faster.

她再没去想那只瓶子，但10个月后，她收到了一位荷兰女孩的来信。
语言点1 never为频率副词，用在实义动词之前。
语言点2 think of = think about考虑
5、Both girls write to each other regularly now.
现在两个女孩定期通信了。
语言点1 both意为“两者都”，后面的名词必须用复数。
语言点2 regularly意为“有规律地，定期地”，为频率副词。
此句还可变为：Both girls regularly write to each other now.
6、However, they have decided to use the post office.
然而她们还是决定利用邮局。
语言点1 however然而，表示轻微转折。
语言点2 decide to do决定做某事。
