I am an art student and I paint a lot of pictures.Many people pretend that they understand modernart. They always tell you what a picture is ‘about'. Ofcourse, many pictures are not 'about' anything. Theyarejust pretty patterns. We like them in the sameway that we like pretty curtain material. I think thatyoung children often appreciate modern picturesbetter than anyone else. They notice more. My sisteris only seven, but she always tells me whether my pictures are good or not. She came intomyroomyesterday.'What are you doing?' she asked.‘I'm hanging this picture on the wall,' Ianswered. ‘It'sanew one. Do you likeit?'She looked at it critically for a moment. 'It's allright,' she said, 'but isn't it upside down?'I looked at it again. She was right! It was!

“是幅新作品，你喜欢吗? ”

语言点 one作代词，避免重复上面提到的名词：

I forgot to bring a pen. Could you lend me one? 我忘记带钢笔了，你能借我一支吗?

14. She looked at it critically for a moment.

她用挑剔的目光看了一会儿。

语言点 critically为副词，在句中作状语。

15.‘It’s all right,’ she said, ‘but isn’t it upside down ?’

“还可以吧”她说，“不过，是不是挂倒了? ”

语言点 all right及其合成形容词的主要用法：

1) all-right令人满意的，良好的：

an all-right fellow 一个不错的家伙;an all-right movie 一部令人满意的影片

2) all right正确的：

Your answers are all right.你的答案是正确的。

3) all right毫无疑问：

It’s cold，all right.毫无疑问，天很冷。

语言点 I looked at it again = I looked at it once more.我再次看了看画。
