55. Stop Thief! 抓小偷
Summer vacation was coming. Our teacher asked us to help our parents with the housework. I promised my mother that I would do the housework once a day.
暑假到了，老师要求我们帮助家长做家务。我向妈妈许诺一天做一件事。
One day, I was walking in the street, holding a bottle of oil I had just bought. Suddenly I caught sight of a young man who was running fast with a purse in his hand. "Stop thief! Stop thief!" cried a woman, running after him.
一天，我走在路上，手里提着一瓶刚买的油。突然我看到一个年轻男子飞快地跑着，手里拿着一个钱包，一个女士在后面追，“抓贼!抓贼!”
At once I knew what had happened. An idea flashed through my mind. In no time I threw the bottle at the young man. The bottle fell to the ground and broke. The thief couldn't avoid it and slipped on the oil and the broken bottle. Together with some nearby people, I rushed up and put my hands on the young man.
我立即明白所发生的事情，我脑海里突然闪过一个念头，随手把酒瓶扔向年轻人，瓶子落在地上摔碎了。小偷躲闪不及，踩在油和玻璃碎片上摔倒了。我和周围的人上前扭住他。
A policeman came and caught him. The woman got back her purse. Many good words were said to me. I felt quite happy.
一个警察赶到将小偷抓捕。女士拿回钱包，周围的人都夸奖我，我感到非常高兴。
I walked home with great pleasure. No sooner had I opened the door than I heard a voice, "Be quick, bring me the oil! I am cooking!" "Oil?" My god! I had forgotten about it completely!
我心情愉快地走回家，一开门就听到：“快点，把油给我!我正炒菜呢!”“油?”天哪!我把它忘得一干二净!
