It was 5:30 on the afternoon of December 12, 2001. I was riding along Fifth Avenue towards the east. On the other side of the street, I saw that an elderly man had come out of a grocers and was trying to cross the street when a car suddenly made a right turn into Fifth Avenue from Peace Street and hit him. The old man fell down with a cry.
2001年12月12日下午5点半，我正骑车沿第五大街向东，我看到马路对面一个老人走出杂货店，打算过马路。这时突然一辆小轿车由和平路右拐进入第五大街，撞到了老人。
Instead of stopping to look, the driver drove off at great speed heading west. I noticed the following. The driver was a young woman, the car was yellow, and the plate number was BJ7899. I immediately stopped a passing taxi and took the old man to the nearest hospital.
他叫了一声倒下。司机没有停车看一下，反而以很快的速度向西驶去。我注意到，司机是女的，黄色轿车，车牌号BJ7899。我截了一辆路过的出租车，将老人送往最近的医院。
