idea后接动词和从句的用法问题

1. 表示做某事的想法，其后要接 of doing sth作定语，一般不接不定式。如：

I hate the idea of getting old. 我讨厌变老这个想法。

The idea of parachuting out of a plane terrifies me. 一想到要从飞机上跳伞，我就感到很害怕。

其后虽然不直接跟不定式，但有时可接带连接代词或连接副词的不定式。如：

I have no idea of how to do it. 我不知道如何做此事。

I had no idea what to say to her. 我不知道对她说什么。

注意下面一句中idea后的不定式不是定语，而是主语：

It’s not a good idea to come between a man and his wife. 最好不要介入人家夫妻间的事。

2. idea 之后可接一个由 that 引导的同位语从句，用以说明idea的具体内容，此时的 that不能改用 which。如：

She had no idea that I was unhappy. 她不知道我不高兴。

The idea that you can do this work without thinking is wrong. 你可以不动脑筋做此工作的想法是错误的。

但是，如果其后接的是定语从句，则可以用which来引导，此时的which在定语从句中用作主语或宾语。如：

The idea which she put forward was interesting. 她提出来的想法很有趣。

3. 后接that引导的从句时，不用介词 of；接续疑问词引导的从句时，可用介词of（也可省略）。如：

Have you any idea (of) when he will come? 你知道他什么时候来吗?

This will give you some idea (of) what relativity means. 这会使你对相对论的意义有所理解。
