[00:09.77]Drummer hits the road
[00:12.20]Yang Ming, drummer for a popular rock band,
[00:14.75]has packed his bags.
[00:16.47]Not only has he decided to move apartments,
[00:19.35]he is actually leaving Shanghai
[00:21.39]after his neighbours made several complaints
[00:23.55]about loss of sleep.
[00:25.70]Never has he know anything like it.
[00:27.97]Besides having to leave his home,
[00:30.43]it is the fact that people
[00:31.90]have branded his music "noise"
[00:33.69]that upsets Yang Ming.
[00:35.58]"It's this that really gets to me",

[00:42.82]"I only need 4 hours sleep a night,
[00:45.09]so why shouldn't I practise my drumming
[00:47.22]as late as like?"
[00:49.00]Seldom has drumming caused such conflict.
[00:51.63]Yang Ming's neighbours claim
[00:53.14]that they were being kept awake,
[00:54.74]night after night,
[00:56.55]and being driven mad by the noise.
[00:58.59]Had they known their neighbour was a drummer,
[01:00.77]they wouldn't have moved into the building.
[01:03.08]"All we want to do is forget the sound
[01:05.36]of drumming!" they said.
[01:07.50]No sooner had they moved in than the noise
[01:09.65]began and rarely did
[01:11.14]they get a full night's sleep.
[01:13.07]Neither could they relax or read a book
[01:15.12]without wearing earplugs!
[01:17.06]In the end,the local council took action.
