　　1. before:

　　l)在……前面：

　　We have a good day's work before us.

　　我们还有一整天的工作要做。

　　He wanted to show off before her.

　　他想在她面前卖弄一下。

　　Pride comes before a fall.

　　骄傲就会摔交。(谚)

　　2)在……之前：

　　The darkest hour is before the dawn.

　　最黑暗的时刻过了就是黎明。(谚)

　　Before starting the work, they had a good discussion.

　　工作开始之前他们好好讨论了一次。

　　2)比……晚：

　　The train is behind time.

　　火车晚点了。

　　You are an hour behind your appointed time.

　　3)用于某些成语：

　　Don't talk behind people's backs.

　　不要在背后议论人。
