第十四章 介词 within 和without 的用法

　　1. Within:

　　l)在……以内：

　　It's within three miles of the station.

　　它离车站不到三英里。

　　We must live within our income.

　　我们必须量入为出。

　　It's a task within your power.

　　这是你力所能及的。

　　2)在(多少时间)内，不到......

　　Within a day or two he got a letter from them.

　　他一两天内就收到他们一封信。

　　Their troops should be withdrawn within sixty days.

　　他们的军队必须在六十天内撤出。

　　I'll be coming with him within half an hour.

　　我半小时内就和他一道来?

　　2. Without:

　　l)不，没有：

　　He agreed without any comment.

　　他没说什么就同意了。

　　we must do it without delay.

　　我们必须毫不拖延地去办。

　　For four days , he worked without taking any rest.

　　他毫不停息地一连干了四天。

　　2)(without引起短语作表语)没有......

　　we were again without a cent.

　　我们又不名一文了。

　　3)用于某些成语：

　　If we can t find the machine, we'll have to do without it.
