    *brief 是约略看过，take a brief look 是“过目一下”之意。

    亨利有时候会偷看他姐姐的日记。
    *正如有 peeping Tom（爱偷看的人，偷窥狂）一样，peep 是指躲起来偷看。

13) If you look up, you can see the airplanes.
    抬头看，你看到飞机了吧。
    *look up 往上看——既可以用于表胸怀大志，也可以用于指物价上涨。

    *look down 往下看，和 look up 适得其反。
