“我很喜欢”是“I very like it”?老外可不这么说!

2021-01-06 16:12:17  每日学英语

说到“很”“非常”的英文,很多人都会想到“very”。说自己非常喜欢什么的时候,可能会说“I very like it”。其实,“very like”是一个非常中式英语的表达,老外是绝对不会这么说的!

英语中,副词(adv)可以修饰形容词(adj)、动词(v)和副词(adv)。这个规则几乎每个学英语的人都清楚。那你可能会说,那like是动词,very是副词,副词修饰动词没毛病啊。

但是!

任何语言的语法都有特例!

very就是个特例!

very不能修饰动词!

正确的说法应该是

“like...very much”

这里的very是用来修饰much的

In general we refer to adverbs as a single category, but it's really three different concepts together: adjective-modifiers, verb-modifiers, and adverb-modifiers. Most adverbs can fill all three of these roles, so in English they're conflated into one group. But here you've stumbled onto one of the exceptions.

一般来说,我们认为副词是一个范畴,但实际上它是三个不同的概念组合在一起:修饰形容词的、修饰动词的和修饰副词的。大多数副词都可以扮演这三种角色,所以在英语中它们被合并成一组。但这里你可以发现一个例外。

"Very", "extremely", and a few others can modify adjectives and other adverbs, but they cannot modify verbs directly. So you could say "I very much like this", or even use a different adjective-derived adverb as in "I certainly like this", but not *"I very like this" or *"I extremely like this".

Very, extremely, 和一些其他的词可以修饰形容词和其他副词,但不能直接修饰动词。所以你可以说,“I very much like this”,或者用一个不同的形容词衍生副词,比如,“I certainly like this”, 但是不能说“ I very like this”,或者“I extremely like this”。
