"You are a bad apple"才不是“你是个坏苹果”

​是说你是个烂苹果吗?

apple这个词，

除了表达它的本意“苹果”之外，

还有很多别的意思，

尤其在英语俚语中的出现频率特别高。

1. You are a bad apple!

“bad apple”，当它形容人的时候，可不能理解成“坏苹果”。这个短语来自于谚语"a bad apple spoils the bunch." 意思是：一粒老鼠屎，搅坏一锅粥。

3. Big Apple

Big Apple 首字母都是大写的，因此是个专有名词，这个词指的是“纽约”。

6. from the egg to the apple

from the egg to the apple来自罗马人的饮食习惯，因为其第一道菜总是鸡蛋，最后一道菜总是苹果。如果有人从鸡蛋一路吃到苹果，那么我们就可以说是从开始吃到最后，即“自始至终”。
