The Nile has always been synonymous with Egypt. The ancient Greek historian H* called Egypt the gift of the Nile. Nowhere else is more evident than in the country's breadbasket, theDelta. From above, it's been described as a flowering lotus plant, as the river split into thousands of channels, flowing through a vast expanse of some of the most fertile land on the planet. Over half of all Egpytians live in the Delta, many growing fruit, vegetables and thirsty crops, like rice and cotton. But Delta is famous for being the source of the luxury Egyptian cotton sheets sold on the high streets. To see where they come from, I met up with farmer Mus*.

-Boy, what's going on?

-They're planting cotton. The whole line is to plant cotton. We plant cotton, and then it grows like this.

-OK, do you need a bit of help? Oh, I'm here to assist.

-God bless you! God bless you! Work, kids! Ululate, girls! Ululate! -Come one of the lady. Show me what to do. Oh, blind me, you b* the place together, don't you? She's fast! I can't come. These's all this ululating. How can you two focus on the job? You look happy.

-The ululating helps us to stay happy during our work. We encourage each other, so that we go home with happy hearts.
