　　Time go again to the A Moment of Science mailbag.A listener writes: Dear A Moment of Science, Is itOK to drink urine? Not that I want to, I’m justcurious. Well, the short answer is yes if you’retrapped somewhere without water, you can drinkyour own urine, or even someone else’s, in order tosurvive a little longer. But wait. Besides the factthat drinking urine is kinda gross, doesn’t it containchemicals the body’s trying to get rid of? Isn’t thatthe whole point of urinating? Yes, but Urine is stillsafe to drink in the short term. Normally, urine isabout 95 percent water and only five percent waste minerals such as excess potassium andcalcium. So at least at first, drinking urine isn’t that different from drinking water.

　　又到了《科学时间》节目。一位听众写道：尊敬的《科学时间》，真的能喝尿吗?我并不像那么做，我只是好奇。粗俗的问题。答案是肯定的，如果你被困在某处，没有水喝，那你可以喝自己的尿液，甚至是别人的，为了延长生存时间。但是，等一下。除了喝尿是有点粗俗外，尿液含有的化学物质不正是身体要排除的吗?那是尿液的关键吗?是的，但在短期内尿液仍然可以安全饮用。通常情况下，尿约含有95%的水，只有百分之五的废物，比如多余的钾和钙矿物。因此，至少在初期，喝尿和喝水没有太大的区别。
