测程仪给抛下去了。本来是松松的绳圈，立刻就伸直了，成为拖在船尾的一条曳长的绳子，接着，那绕线轮就马上转动起来。可是，那只测程仪由于滚滚的波涛而猛烈地忽上忽下，从而产生的一种拖引的阻力，使得这个拿着绕线轮的老头儿晃来晃去，显得十分奇特。
