Topic1 Confucianism and Its Modern Values
Frustrated with the problems of modern society, many people have turned to ancient wisdom for answers. Could the cure lie in the ancient teachings of Confucius? Do Chinese young people still embrace Confucianism? How do American young people understand Confucianism?

We are joined by Sam Crane, professor of political science at Williams College, USA. In the first half hour, we'll be talking about Confucianism teaching and learning home and abroad.

Topic2 New physical standards stress upper body strength for male students
China's Ministry of Education has just publicized new national standards on the physical health of the country's students.

The new standards, to be implemented this coming September, requires males students above grade six to be tested for pull-ups as a compulsory item.

And something new for primary school students, too—they will be tested for rope skipping. Test performances will count as part of their overall school performance assessment.

Does the new one make sense?

People who spend almost all day every day on playing video games don't always turn out to be "losers" after all.

Chinese-based e-sports team Newbee eSports Club snagged the top prize at The International Dota 2 Championship in Seattle, US, a little more than a week ago.

The victory at the world's most lucrative online gaming contest has rewarded the team about US$5 million.

Could this be a turning point for video games fans in China, who are usually young kids at school?
