1. 非限制性定语从句总是用逗号与主句隔开。
They have four children, all of whom are now at school.
他们有四个孩子，现在都在上学。
2. 引导非限制性定语从句的关系代词无论是否在从句中作宾语都不能省略。
Yesterday I met Jack, whom his parents were looking for at that time.
昨天我见到了杰克，当时他父母正在找他呢。
3. 用both/some/each/most/all/several/many/a few/ten of + whom/which引导非限制性定语从句用which指物，用whom指人。
Her parents, both of whom work in Beijing, ring her up every week.
他父母每周都给他打电话，两人都在北京工作。
The house was full of desks, several of which were made of stone.
这间房子里全是课桌，好几张都是石头做的。
4. 注意逗号与and的不同功能。and连接的是并列句，需用人称代词；仅有逗号没有并列连词时用关系代词引导非限制性定语从句。
This is our school, in front of which lies a road.
这就是我们学校，前面有一条路。
This is our school, and in front of it lies a road.
这就是我们学校，它前面有条路。
5. 非限制性定语从句在意义上相当于一个并列句。
I told the story to John, who later did it to his brother.
I told The story to John,and he later told it to his brother.
我把那个故事告诉了约翰，他后来把故事告诉了他的弟弟。
The next day John went with me to the station, where I bought a ticket for Beijing.
The next day John went with me to The station,and there I bought a ticket for Beijing.

6. 非限制性定语从句有时相当于一个状语从句，表示原因、目的、结果、条件或让步意义。
He is clever and quick at his work, for which he is honoured with the title of model worker .

他工作很聪明很快捷，因此他被授予模范工人的称号。
