然后我说，“但是这期节目中有某些东西让我很困惑，我不确定是什么，但总感觉不对劲。我必须要看一下，我必须花时间看一下，因为当时我确实说不清是哪里不对，我只是感觉这期节目会产生一些不好的影响。”
So I said, "I want to take a chance to review the tape," and as my life would have it, I didn't geta chance to review the tape. This was on a Thursday. The show was going to air on a Monday.Saturday, I'm sitting in a Santa Barbara alone, quiet for a moment, and it occurred to me what's wrong with that show. There's something wrong with the energy that I brought to that show. And I called the producer and said, "I know what's wrong with the show. I think the show focuses too much attention on the killers and it presents darkness, the energy of darkness, in away that I really don't want to be responsible for."
于是我说，“我要重新看一下这期节目，”然后我最终没有机会重新看。那是一个星期四，节目在接下来的周一播出。周六，我独自一人坐在圣巴巴拉市，坐了很长时间，突然我想起来这期节目哪里不对劲了。我带给那期节目的精神出现了问题。我给制片人打电话说，“我知道这期节目有什么问题。我认为这期节目更多关注杀人凶手，把一种精神的阴暗面展现给观众，在某种程度上说，我不想对那个所产生的影响负责。”
And the producer said, "But the promos have gone out. It's already airing all over the country.We've told all the stations that airing and they have it in their line up." And I said, "I am responsible for the energy that goes out over the air, so we're going to have to pull it,regardless of what we've told the stations, and they will have to understand." So we pulled the show, because I felt that at the end of the day, if one person watching that show saw or heard something that made them feel inspired to go out and bring more darkness into the world, I didn't want that on me.
制片人说，“但是我们已经发布了预告片，而且已经在全国播放了。我们告诉所有的电台将要播放这期节目，他们已经将这列入了节目单。”于是我又说，“我要对这期节目所展现的精神负责，所以我们必须取消节目，不管我们对电视台说了什么。他们必须理解这一点。”因此，我们取消了那期节目，因为我感觉，在那一天快要结束时，如果一个人在那期节目中看到或者听到的一些东西使他想要走出家门，从而给这个世界带来更多黑暗，这种后果我将无法承担。
