Ukraine's parliament on December 8 approved the legislation needed to start EU accession negotiations, and President Volodymyr Zelensky signed it into law. Zelensky said that according to the proposal of the EU, the Ukrainian Parliament has passed three bills including the bill on the rights of minorities, and Ukraine has completed all the seven reform conditions proposed by the EU, and he urged the EU to fulfill its previous commitments as soon as possible. An EU summit will be held next week where member states will discuss whether Ukraine and Moldova can join the bloc. Earlier, the Hungarian government objected, saying Ukraine was not ready to join the EU.
