Since the designated supervision site for imported fruits at Mohan Railway Port was put into use on December 3, 2022, tropical fruits from Thailand, Laos and other countries, as well as pomegranates, snow lotus fruits and vegetables from Yunnan, have been sold to domestic and foreign markets through the China Laos Railway, enriching people's "fruit basket" and "vegetable basket".

The China Laos Railway has been put into operation for 22 months and has transported more than 26.8 million tons of goods, including 5.5 million tons of inbound and outbound goods. Especially since the beginning of this year, the freight volume has significantly increased, with a total of over 14 million tons of transported goods, including over 3 million tons of imported and exported goods. The transportation of goods covers countries such as Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, and Myanmar, and the number of goods categories has increased to over 2700.

Authorities say the China-Laos Railway has transported more than 26.8 million tonnes of cargo since the start of its operation 22 months ago.

The 1,035-kilometer railway connects Kunming in China with Vientiane in Laos.
