China State Railway Group says railway operations have been safe and stable since the start of the travel rush for the eight-day Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday.

The operator predicts that railway passengers will remain at a high level on Wednesday, reaching 17.3 million, with 11679 trains available to meet travel needs.

It added that as tourists return home after the holiday, there will be another peak of tourism on October 5th and October 6th.
