At around 9:00 am local time on October 16, the first inbound passenger plane landed at Angkor International Airport in Siem Reap, Cambodia, marking the opening of the landmark project of China-Cambodia "Belt and Road" cooperation, which is also the first international airport implemented by Chinese enterprises in overseas investment, construction and operation mode.

当地时间10月16日上午9时许，首架进港客机降落在柬埔寨暹粒吴哥国际机场，标志着这一中柬共建“一带一路”标志性工程通航运营，这也是目前由中资企业在海外以投资、建设、运营模式实施的第一座国际机场。

Angkor International Airport held a "Watergate" ceremony for the first passenger plane to enter the port, and held a warm welcome ceremony for the first group of passengers who arrived. Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Cabinet Office Weng Saiviso, Cambodian Minister of State for Civil Aviation Mauhavana, Governor of Siem Reap Brang Sophan and Chinese guests sent flowers and best wishes to the first group of passengers who arrived. More than 400 people from all walks of life of China and Cambodia attended the opening ceremony of the airport.

吴哥国际机场为首架进港客机举行了“过水门”仪式，并为首批抵达的旅客举行了热情的欢迎仪式，柬埔寨副首相兼内阁办公厅大臣翁赛维索、柬埔寨民航国务秘书处大臣毛哈万纳、暹粒省省长布拉索潘和中方嘉宾向首批抵达的旅客送上了鲜花和祝福。中柬双方各界人士400多人参加了机场通航仪式。

The site of Angkor International Airport project is 40 kilometers away from Angkor Wat and 51 kilometers away from Siem Reap city. It covers an area of about 700 hectares, and the terminal area is about 81,800 square meters. The modern technology of glass minarets is used to show the charm of Angkor historic palace temples and reflect the cultural characteristics of Cambodia.

吴哥国际机场项目选址距吴哥窟40公里，距暹粒市区51公里，占地约700公顷，航站楼面积约8.18万平方米，使用玻璃尖塔的现代工艺展现吴哥古迹宫殿庙宇神韵，体现柬埔寨文化特色。

The annual throughput of the new airport can reach 7 million passengers in the initial period of operation, and it can rise to 10 million passengers by 2030, which is a significant increase from the annual throughput of Siem Reap Airport only about 2 million. The flight area of Angkor International Airport is Class 4E, which can meet the take-off and landing of mainstream large wide-body aircraft and provide strong support for the opening of long-range intercontinental routes.

新机场运营初期年吞吐量即可达700万人次，至2030年可升至1000万人次，较之前暹粒机场年吞吐量仅有200万左右有了大幅提升；吴哥国际机场飞行区为4E级，可满足主流大型宽体客机起降，为开通远程洲际航线提供有力支撑。
