China's carbon dioxide emissions per unit of gross domestic product (GDP) will drop by more than 51 percent from 2005 levels in 2022, according to the Annual report on China's Policies and Actions to Combat climate Change 2023, released by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment in Beijing on Monday. By the end of 2022, the proportion of non-fossil energy consumption will reach 17.5 percent, and the total installed capacity of renewable energy will reach 1.213 billion kilowatts.

生态环境部27日在北京发布《中国应对气候变化的政策与行动2023年度报告》显示，2022年，中国单位国内生产总值(GDP)二氧化碳排放比2005年下降超过51%。截至2022年底，非化石能源消费比重达到17.5%，可再生能源总装机容量达到12.13亿千瓦。

The report shows that China is vigorously developing strategic emerging industries. In 2022, the added value of high-tech manufacturing and equipment manufacturing will account for 15.5% and 31.8% of the added value of industries above designated size, up 6.1 and 3.6 percentage points from 2012, respectively. In the first half of 2023, the added value of high-tech manufacturing industry above designated size increased by 1.7% year-on-year. Through measures to improve energy efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and upgrade products and equipment, China has reduced energy intensity by 26.4% in the past decade, and supported economic growth of 6.2% with an average annual growth rate of 3% in energy consumption. This is equivalent to reducing the use of 1.4 billion tons of standard coal and reducing the emission of nearly 3 billion tons of carbon dioxide.

报告显示，中国大力发展战略性新兴产业，2022年，全国高技术制造业、装备制造业增加值占规模以上工业增加值比重分别达到15.5%和31.8%，较2012年分别提高了6.1和3.6个百分点，2023年上半年规模以上高技术制造业增加值同比增长1.7%。通过实施能效提高、节能降耗、产品设备升级等措施，十年来，中国能耗强度累计下降26.4%，以年均3%的能源消费增速支撑了6.2%的经济增长，相当于少用14亿吨标准煤，少排放二氧化碳近30亿吨。
