From January 13 to 18, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited Egypt, Tunisia, Togo and Cote d 'Ivoire upon invitation. This is the first visit by a Chinese foreign minister to Africa at the beginning of the year for 34 consecutive years. Last August, the China-Africa Leaders' Dialogue held in Johannesburg, South Africa, received a warm response, and the new session of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation will be held in China this year. Against this backdrop, this visit sends a strong signal of continuing the traditional friendship between China and Africa and consolidating the momentum of China-Africa solidarity and cooperation.
