BEIJING: China's trade balance turned red in March, the country's first monthly trade deficit in six years, the General Administration of Customs said here Saturday.

　　海关总署于周六表示，中国三月份的进出口贸易出现赤字，是六年以来首次出现月度贸易赤字。

　　China's trade deficit reached 7.24 billion U.S. dollars in March, the first ever since April 2004, according to a report released by the General Administration of Customs.

　　根据海关总署发布的报告，中国三月份的进出口贸易赤字达72.4亿美元，是自2004年四月份以来首次出现贸易赤字。

      China exported 112.11 billion U.S. dollars of goods and services in March, up 24.3 percent year on year, while the imports surged 66 percent year on year to 119.35 billion U.S. dollars, resulting a trade deficit of 7.24 billion U.S. dollars.

　　中国三月份对外输出了价值1121.1亿美元的产品与服务，同比上升24.3%，进口额则同比大幅上升了66%至1193.5亿美元，贸易赤字达72.4亿美元。

　　Imports and exports rose 42.8 percent year on year to 231.46 billion U.S. dollars in March, according to the customs statistics.

　　根据海关的数据，中国三月份的进出口总额同比上升了42.8%至2314.6亿美元。

       Taking the first three months together, China still posted a trade surplus of 14.49 billion U.S. dollars in the first quarter, sharply down 76.7 percent from the same period of last year.

　　而中国今年一季度仍然录得144.9亿美元的贸易顺差，但与去年同期相比大幅下跌了76.7%。

　　The country's imports and exports totaled 617.85 billion U.S. dollars in the first quarter, up 44.1 percent year on year.

　　中国今年一季度的进出口总额同比上升了44.1%至6178.5亿美元。
