INKY MUME BLOSSOMS
妙高墨梅
At dusk a boat is floating on the river wide,
日暮江空船自流，
Whose hermitage stands lonely by the riverside?
谁家院落近沧洲？
A branch of mume at leisure stretches o’er the wall.
一枝闲暇出墙头。
The mume veiled in moonlight sends fragrance on the wing;
数朵幽香和月暗，
It longs for home, but only stays for coming spring.
十分归意为春留。
The wind-stirred petals show their sorrow one and all.
风撩片片是闲愁。
