1. where引导的状语从句表示特定的地点。
1）where = in/on/to/at the place where
You should put the book where it was .
你应该把书本放回原处。
Go where you would like to .
你想去哪里就可以去哪里。
2）where引导的状语从句经常在谓语动词后，从句前没有先行词。
He lives where he used to.
他就住在他原来住的地方。
3）where引导的地点状语从句，从句经常出现在主句前。
Where there is smoke, there's fire.
无风不起浪。
4）在状语从句中，where不能像引导定语从句那样可与in/on which互换。
She stayed where her father was born.
她呆在他父亲的出生地。
2. wherever引导的状语从句表示非特定的地点。
1）wherever=in/on/to/at any place where。
You can stay wherever you want to.
你可以住在任何你想住的地方。
2）wherever可引导地点状语从句，也可以引导让步状语从句。
They must go wherever we send them.
我们派他们去哪里，他们就得去哪里。
Wherever you go, I go too.
无论你到什么地方，我都去。
3）引导地点状语从句时，从句总是放在主句的谓语动词后，而引导让步从句时，从句总是放在主句前面。
Wherever you go , you should do your work well.
无论你到哪里，你都应该做好工作。
3. 由-where构成的复合词也可以引导地点状语从句，常见的复合词是：anywhere, everywhere。
Everywhere I go , I find the same thing.
不管我走到哪里，我都发现同样的情况。
With a special train ticket you can travel anywhere you like in Europe .
持有专用火车票，就可以到欧洲你喜欢的任何地方去旅游。
4. 地点状语也可以采取无动词从句结构，如：where(ver) possible, where necessary, wherever feasible。
Where(ver) possible , all moving parts should be tested.
只要有可能，所有的可移动的零件都应得到测验。
Wherever feasible , the illustrations have been taken from standard literature.
在可行的情况下，插图都已经从标准文献中取出了。
