vi. 比较状语从句
1. than/as后主语若是人称代词，该代词既可用主格，也可用宾格。若代词后还有动词，则只能用主格。
China is stronger than she used to be.
中国比以前更强大。
He is taller than me by three years.
他比我大三岁。
2. 表示相同程度的比较：
1）as +原级+ as
She dances as well as her sister.
她舞跳得和她姐姐一样好。
2）the same (+表示量度的名词)+ as
Your watch is not the same as mine.
你的手表和我的不一样。
3）as ... as从句中，若副词as后的形容词修饰一个单数可数名词时，注意语序应为：as +形容词+a/an+名词+ as
I am not as good a student as you.
我不是你这样的好学生。
3. 表示较高程度的比较：
1）“the +比较级……，the +比较级……”表示“越……,就越……”
The more you read, the more you will know.
你读的东西越多，你就知道得越多。
2）“the + 形容词比较级+ of +名词”表示两者之间较为突出者“更加……”。
Tom is the older of the two students.
汤姆是两个学生中较大的那个。
3）当形容词比较级修饰可数名词作定语时，前面通常加不定冠词。
John has a higher opinion of Mary than of Jane.
约翰对玛丽评价要比对简的评价高。
4. 表示最高程度时的结构：
1）the +最高级+比较范围
Changjiang River is the longest river in China.
长江是中国最长的河流。
He is the tallest student of us three .
他是我们三个中个子最高的。
2）比较级+ than + any other +名词单数
比较级+than+any of The other+名词复数
比较级+than+anyone else/anybody else/anything else。
China is larger than any other country in Asia.
China is larger than any of The other countries in Asia.
China is larger than any country else in Asia.
中国比亚洲任何国家都大。
3）比较级+ than + any +名词单数（比较双方不属于同一范围）
India is larger than any country in Africa.
印度比非洲的任何国家都大。
4）否定词+ as/so ... as
No one is as old as our monitor in our class.
我们班里没有人比我们班长年纪大。
5）否定词+比较级
No student is cleverer than our monitor in our class.
我们班里没有学生比我们班长聪明。
6）second to none意为“首屈一指，最好”
America is second to none in the world in terms of wealth.
美国是世界上首屈一指的富国。
7）有时候形容词最高级前面不加定冠词或加不定冠词，表示“非常”。
English is a most useful language in our daily life.
英语是我们日常生活中一种很有用的语言。
5. 表示“最……之一”：
1）among +形容词最高级+名词复数
Nile River is the longest among the rivers in the world.
尼罗河是世界上最长的河流之一。
2）one of the + 形容词最高级+名词复数
Nile River is one of the longest rivers in the world.
尼罗河是世界上最长的河流之一。
6. 表示较低程度的比较
1）not + as/so +原级+ as
English is not so easy for me to learn as Chinese.
对我来说英语不如汉语容易学。
2）less +原级+ than
Japanese is less interesting to me than English.
对我来说日语不如英语有趣。
7. 可以修饰比较级的词有：rather, much, many, still, even, far, any, a bit, a little, a lot, a great deal,还有表倍数和度量的名词。
1）many修饰的比较级后接可数名词
There are many more books in our library than in our class.
我校图书馆里的书远比我们班里的书多得多。
2）much修饰的比较级后接不可数名词
Though he has much more money , he isn't as happy as me.
尽管他有更多的钱，他却没有我快乐。
8. 可用于修饰最高级的词有almost, nearly, much, very, by far, the next, the+序数词。
This hat is by far/nearly/almost the biggest one I have seen.
这是我见过的最大的帽子。
9. 表示倍数的比较结构有：
1）A is twice/three times, etc. + bigger/longer/higher/older, etc. + than B
This building is twice taller than the one we built last year.
这座楼是我们去年建的楼的两倍高。
2）A is three times/four times, etc. + as big/long/high/old, etc. + as B
Huanghe River is three times as long as this river.
黄河是这条河的三倍长。
3）A is three times/four times, etc. + the size/length/height/age, etc. + of B
Nanjing Road is four times the width of the road in front of our school.
南京路是我校前面路宽的四倍。
4）A is one-third/one-fourth, etc. + the size/length/height/width/age, etc + of B
This tree is one-third the height of the one in front of our teaching building.

10. 比较状语从句中的避免重复：
1）than引导从句时，从句中常常省略与主句相同的部分。
This house is less expensive than the other one (is).
这座房子不如那座房子贵。
2）than从句中，常用助动词do或其他助动词或情态动词代替与主句相同的部分。
He works harder than I do .
他学习比我更努力。
3）从句中用one, that或those分别代替主句中的相应可数名词单数、不可数名词或可数名词复数。
The population in China is larger than that in India.
中国的人口比印度的人口多。
4）than ever/before/usual/never/reported/was necessary/to do sth.
He works harder than before .
他比以前学习更努力。
