1. 名词use, good, pity, time, fun, bore, a waste of time, worth（形容词）等作表语时，常用it作形式主语而把真正的主语动名词后置：
It is no use waiting for him; he won't come.
等他没用，他不会来的。
It is no good staying up so late every evening.
每天晚上熬夜是没有好处的。
It is a waste of time talking about it here.
在这里谈论它是浪费时间。
2. “there is no +动名词”结构相当于It is impossible to do sth.,此时动名词通常带有宾语。
There's no joking about such matters.
对这样的事情没有玩笑可言。
There's no getting along well with him.
不可能和他相处好。
There's no hiding of the evil but not to do it.
要想人不知除非己莫为。
3. 用于布告形式的省略结构中，意义上相当于祈使句。动名词通常不带宾语。
No smoking ！ = Don't smoke.
不许抽烟。
No parking ! = Don't park.
不许停车。
