词组讲解

1. go to bat for sb. ** 不遗余力地帮助某人

解 〈口〉习语；词义溯源：［为了或支持（for）］某人去［猛击、击球（bat）］

例 Ask Mr. Cai to talk to the general manager for you. He likes you. I think he'd go to bat for you if you asked him. Tell him all about the problem you're having getting permission to get a couple of days off for your wedding and I'm sure he'll try his best for you.

2. go to bed with the chickens ** 夕阳西下时（鸡睡觉时）就睡觉；晚上早早睡觉

解 习语；词义溯源：鸡睡觉时就去［床上（bed）］睡觉
