1. have an axe to grind **另有企图，另有打算

解〈口〉习语；词义溯源：有［斧头（an axe）］［要磨（to grind）］

例 What Karl's saying is the money the R & D laboratory is proposing we spend on this new equipment could be better spent elsewhere. His opposition is based on what he thinks is best for this company. But actually, he has an axe to grind.

2. have an eye for sb. or sth. **对…感兴趣；有眼力
