make up one's mind“下定决心,拿定主意”

把你要买的物品都列在购物单上。

item n. (可分类或列举的)项目,品目,条款

list有动词和名词两种词性:作名词时意为“列表,清单”,作动词时意为“列出“。

Can you join me in shopping?

你能陪我去购物吗?

join sb. in doing sth.“和某人一起做某事”

I'll do window-shopping to kill time.

我准备去随便逛逛以消磨时间。

do window-shopping“只看不买地逛街”

kill time“消磨时间”

There is a big sale at City Mall.

城市购物商场正在大减价。

Things there are on sale.

那儿的东西都在减价。

sale n. & n. 出售,减价销售

on sale“减价出售”

 

Suggesting Shopping Together提议同逛街

Alina: Are you busy this weekend?

艾琳娜:这周末你忙吗?

Doris: Not really. I don't have anything I need to do.

桃瑞丝:不怎么忙。没什么事情做。

Alina: There is a big sale at City Mall. Do you wanna go and have a look around?

艾琳娜:城市购物商场正在大减价。你想不想去看一下?

Doris: Actually I'm kind of broke these days. Plus I don't really feel up to fighting the crowds that I'm sure will be there.

桃瑞丝:事实上这些天我没钱。还有我可不想在人群里挤来挤去,一定会有很多人的。

Alina: Come on. I’m broke too. but we can still do some window-shopping. We'll leave as soon as you get bored, I promise.

艾琳娜:行了吧,我也没钱了,不过我们可以只看不买啊,我保证在你感到厌倦的时候我们马上就走。

Doris: You mean just look around? Sounds kind of lame. I'd rather stay at home and watch movies or something.

桃瑞丝:你的意思是只看不买?听起来有点无聊。我更愿意呆在家里看看电影什么的。

Alina: Fine, I'll go by myself then. Maybe you'd like to go to look at a new car I'm thinking about buying. I'm going to the auto dealer on Sunday. May be you'll see something you like and buy a new car too. Who knows?

艾琳娜:好吧,那我自己去好了。或许你乐意去看 看我想买的新车。星期天我要去汽车经销商那里。或许你看到了喜欢的,也买一辆呢,谁知道呢?

Doris: Yeah. that sounds OK. I'm thinking about getting a new set of wheels.

桃瑞丝:是啊,听起来不错。我正在计划买一辆新车呢。

 

 

1.“wanna”是美国口语,“wanna=want to”,正式用语或书面用语应尽量避免使用。

2.“look around”的意思是“四处看看,四处逛”,逛街时,如果售货员问你买什么,你若无心购买,就可以说:I'm just looking around.(我只是随便逛逛。)

3.“feel up to(doing)sth.”意思是“感到有力气或精力去做某事,感到能胜任”。例如:I just didn't feel up to going.(我没有力气去了。)He is scheduled to join the team in Liverpool late today if his back is feeling up to it.(如果他的背部没问题,升划今天晚点儿时候他要去利物浦加入球队,)

4.“lame”在本对话中用作俚语,意思是“无聊的”,原意为“瘸的,跛足的”

5.“(a set of) wheels”在口语中表示“汽车”,例如:Do you like my new wheels?(你喜欢我的新汽车吗?)
