Father: We should get her white ones. That's her favorite color, and besides, a good color for girls. By the way, you should get a pair for this summer too. They're much more comfortable than sneakers.
父亲：我们应该给她选双白色的，那是她最喜欢的颜色。而且女孩子穿白色也好看。对了，今年夏天你也应该买一双凉鞋。凉鞋比胶底运动鞋舒服多了。

1.“now(that)”作连词用，表示“既然，由于，因为”。例如：Now that we know each other a little better. we get along fine. (因为我们互相有点儿了解了，所以我们处得很好。）I'm going to relax now the school year is over.（既然这学年已经结束了，我打算好好放松一下。）My oldest son and I are getting along better now that he's getting ready to go to college.（我大儿子要准备上大学了，我们俩的关系也因此处得好点儿了。）Now I've got a car. I don't get as much exercise as I used to.（因为现在我有了车，我就不像以前一样做那么多锻炼了。）
2.“shopping list”的意思是“购物清单”。如果想表示“列购物清单”，则可以说：make a shopping list。例如：What are we going to buy? Let's make a shopping list.（我们要买些什么东西呢？咱们列个购物清单吧。）
